The heavy rainfall, between 6 and 12 inches in the heaviest band, caused catastrophic damage, especially in Historic Ellicott City. Many buildings were damaged and dozens of vehicles experienced flood damage. A majority of the roads were washed out and land erosion and localized landslides were reported as destroyed. Hundreds of residents were displayed and once more the people had to relive the tragic and terrifying event.
